4  Tests & Measurement Results

To test the function and performance of the developed circuits, step by step measurements were undertaken. After verifying the function of the digital signal generator and the protection board, the H - Bridge and the voltage multiplier were tested separately at low voltages.

4.1  H - Bridge at low voltage

4.1.1  Simulation model and measurement set-up

Figure 4.1 shows the PSpice schematic of the H - Bridge simulation. The output is loaded by a resistor which value is selected according to available resistors. Since a simulation model of the International Rectifier IGBTs IRG4PH40UD was not available, a simulation model of a similar IGBT was used.

All simulations and measurements were made at a switching frequency of 16kHz.

Figure 4.2 is a photo of the measurement equipment and the electronic. (A) is a  dc-supply for the digital signal generator and the IGBT driver. (B) is the oscilloscope to capture the signals. (C) is the dc-supply to power the H - Bridge and (D) are the tested boards.
