3.2.3  Filter

The filter is designed to filter out the high frequency switching voltage-spikes. It is not intended to smooth the 50Hz ripple at a load of 1kW or more. A capacitor therefore would be too expensive and is not necessary. The main filtering is performed by two high-frequency 5mF capacitors (Arcotronics, Type: MKP C4G, Un = 700V=) on the rectifying board (Figure 2.1, a). In addition, on each H ‑ Bridge channel PCB a suppressor MKP capacitor is mounted (Figure 3.16, a).

Figure 3.7 is the Protel schematic of the Rectifier-, inrush-current- and filter - unit J_power_? are the connectors for the 400V three phase power supply, F1 - F3 are ultrafast fuses to protect the circuit. J_culi_in is connected to J_culi_2 of Figure 3.5

J_to_protec_pcb of Figure 3.7 is connected to J_3_Phase_in of Figure 3.5
